The Shevchenkovsky District Court of Kyiv authorized the arrest until May 20 without the right to make a bail Nadezhda Savchenko. On the eve of the People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada was detained on suspicion of preparing a coup in Ukraine.
As reports "112 Ukraine" , the presiding judge Yevgeny Sidorov read the decision for about an hour. At the same time, he decided that the detention of Savchenko on March 22 was illegal.
“It is necessary to apply to it a preventive measure in the form of detention without determining the size of the pledge. For Savchenko, you should choose the maximum term of detention under the custody of 60 days, because, despite the specified volume of investigative and procedural actions, the difficulty of extending does not allow to complete the pre -trial investigation in a shorter period,” the prosecutor said during the trial.
According to him, if Savchenko would have remained free, she could influence witnesses, use the deputy status to appear to the court, continue to commit crimes, and also go beyond the limits of Ukraine.
At the same time, the side of protection insisted that the detention of Savchenko was illegal, and all the risks listed by the prosecutor were unreasonable. Nevertheless, the court sided with the state prosecution.
The judge explained that for the commission of one of the crimes incriminated by Savchenko, life imprisonment is provided. In addition, she, having the status of a people's deputy, can freely move through the demarcation line, Sidorov said.
According to him, Savchenko has personal relations with the heads of "terrorist organizations, and it can be hidden from the pre -trial investigation authorities," UNIAN reports.
Reading the decision, the judge stated the lack of evidence that at the time of the detention, Savchenko committed crimes that were charged with her, in particular, preparation of the coup and terrorist attacks.
In this regard, the court considered it necessary to free her from the court premises. However, according to the aggregate of seven articles, according to which Savchenko is accused of a total, the court decided to arrest her, TASS said.
Savchenko is charged with the commission of crimes under Part 1 of Art. 109 (actions aimed at violent change or overthrow of the constitutional system or seizure of state power); Part 1 of Art. 14 (preparation for a crime), part 2 of article 28 (committing a crime by a group of persons, a group of persons by prior conspiracy, organized by a group or criminal organization), Art. 112 (encroachment on the life of a state or public figure), part 3 of Art. 258 (terrorist act); Part 1 of Art. 258-3 (creation of a terrorist group or terrorist organization); and h. 1 tbsp. 263 (illegal handling of weapons, combat supplies or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
Note that earlier Savchenko announced the beginning of a hunger strike. "It is made a political decision to detain me. If I stay in prison, I will show once again what the people of Ukraine are and what a hero is. From today I have been going to the hunger strike," she said.
On Thursday, March 22, the Verkhovna Rada removed the inviolability of Savchenko and agreed to her detention. Immediately after that, she was brought to the pre -trial detention center, where she spent last night.
Speaking on Friday in court, Savchenko said that "among all the accusations of the prosecutor’s office, only her neglect of the highest leadership of Ukraine and dissatisfaction with the social situation is true." In case of evidence, Savchenko’s guilt faces imprisonment of up to 15 years or lifelong conclusion.
