The head of Alexei Navalny's federal headquarters, Leonid Volkov, was released from a special detention center, where he was serving 30 days of administrative arrest for two retweets, Navalny wrote on Twitter.
On February 22, the Simonovsky District Court of Moscow sentenced Volkov to 30 days of administrative arrest, finding him guilty under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (repeated violation of the rules for organizing or holding a mass event). The protocols were drawn up due to retweets of Navalny’s address to schoolchildren and a video recording of the oppositionist’s detention. As the court decided, in this way Volkov violated the organization of the rally in support of the “voter strike” on January 28.
Volkov was detained at Sheremetyevo airport on the afternoon of February 22, and half an hour later, Navalny was detained at the exit from the dentist .
