The First Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation, Alexander Buksman, instructed prosecutors throughout the country together with representatives of the Ministry of Emergencies to conduct inspections of compliance with fire safety legislation in all shopping complexes with entertainment centers.

“Prosecutors were instructed to pay special attention to the availability and performance of alarm and fire extinguishing systems at these facilities. In case of violations of the law, prosecutors are ordered to immediately take comprehensive response measures, ensuring their real elimination, ” the Prosecutor General’s Office said.

It is already known that neither the alarm, nor the automatic fire extinguishing system in the Winter Cherry worked. The evacuation exits were also blocked.

At the moment, four suspects have been detained and interrogated, including the technical director of the building owner of the building, the tenant of the premises in which, presumably, there was an epicenter of fire, an employee and head of an organization engaged in fire alarm service.

“The issue of detaining the fifth suspect, an employee of the ChOP, who, when receiving a fire signal, turned off the warning system, is being resolved. Serious violations were committed both when putting a shopping center into operation and in the process of its work, ”the investigative committee said in a statement.

There are still two versions of the occurrence of fire: violation of the wiring and careless handling of fire.

The fact that the fire was arranged by two teenagers, a source close to the head office of the shopping center told the Sibdepo publication. According to him, they set fire to foam cubes in the pit of the trampoline center.

“The TRK employee saw the guys set fire to the foam. He tried to extinguish the fire, but the flame crawled almost instantly. Moreover, these teenagers were just saved - the employee brought them out. And he testified to employees of the UK, described how these guys look, ”said Sibdepo's interlocutor.

Officially, such indications were not reported. The final conclusions about the causes of the fire and the guilty of the tragedy will be made based on the results of investigative and procedural actions and forensic examinations, said in the UK.
