The second volume of the diaries of Olga Bergholz came out

On April 5, in the Museum of the History of the Gulag in Moscow, an evening will be held dedicated to the release of the book “Olga Bergholz. My diary. 1930–1941 ” - the second volume of the full edition of the diaries of Olga Bergholz.

The book "Olga Bergholz. My diary. 1930–1941 ” prepared by Kuchkovo Field Publishing House together with the Russian State Archive of Literature and Art (RGALI), this is the second part of the multi -volume edition of all the diaries of the poetess in chronological sequence. The first volume was released in 2017.

The new edition includes diary entries for 1930-1941. The pages of the diaries of this period describe the period of the work of Bergholz with a correspondent at the construction sites of the first five -year -olds, entering the literature, the tragic years of the death of daughters, Stalinist repressions, their own arrest, imprisonment.

Diaries are published for the first time, full -text, without bills. During the arrest of Bergholz, the notebooks were confiscated by the NKVD employees and returned with the litter of the investigator with a red pencil, but even after that she continued to keep her notes extremely frankly: “I am not afraid of any thoughts ... no, a person should not be afraid of any thought. Only here is absolute freedom. If there is no one there, then there is nothing, ”Bergholz wrote in her diary. For more than thirty years, he was in a closed storage first by order of the authorities, and then by the will of the heirs, and only now it is fully available to the reader.
