In Makhachkala, the head of the Dagestan representative office of the Human Rights Center "Memorial" Syrazhudin Datsiev is beaten. This was reported by the director of the Center for Analysis and Prevention of Conflicts Ekaterina Sokiryanskaya.

“In Makhachkala, a brutal attack was made on the head of the“ Memorial ”Sirazhutin Datsiev. Unknown attacked the house near the house. He was beaten very cruelly. He was hospitalized in the neurosurgical department of the Central District Hospital. The police are working on the spot,” Sokiryanskaya wrote.

Human rights activists in Dagestan have repeatedly received threats. Late in the evening of January 22, in Makhachkala , a fabric of the Memorial representative of the Memorial , parked at the driver’s house, was committed. With the help of firefighters who promptly arrived at the scene, the fire was quickly extinguished. Only the front of the car suffered - the paint on the hood was burned, the wheel and rubber seals burned. A container with an incendiary mixture was found next to the car.

Later, the SMS message came to the mobile phone of the Dagestan representative office of the Memorial: “You go along the edge of the abyss. Close it! Next time, we’ll set your office with you. The car is a signal” (spelling saved. - Ed.).

The police opened a criminal case under Part 2 of the Status 167 of the Criminal Code (intentional destruction or damage to other people's property by arson).

“This is quite obvious, the next act of intimidation,” said Oleg Orlov, the head of the program “hot spots”. “In relation to the Memorial, intimidation, intimidation, that is, terror, has set fire to the car, perhaps some local punks. But it is obvious to any unbiased person that the employers of these arsonists, organizers of the crime should be sought in the Chechen Republic.”

According to Orlov, on January 20, a Dagestan lawyer drove to the Chechen village of Kurchal on this car. The lawyer participated in the investigative actions in the case of the chairman of the Chechen unit of the organization of Oyub Titiev , against which the case of drug storage was fabricated (part 2 of Article 228 of the Criminal Code).

Orlov called the incident in Makhachkala the “link of one chain” with a fabric of the office of the “Memorial” in Nazran and the toss of suspicious objects during a search in the Chechen representative office of the organization .
