Dolphin: "Anything can be expected from them"

On March 30, Izvestia Hall Delphin present his new album 442 , full of angry rhymes and pointed melodies. This strong and sharp record, apparently, will become one of the best Russian -speaking records of the year. Denis Boyarinov talked with Andrei Lysikov about the album, war, religions and a trip to the Disneyland Parisian.

- “442” has already been called the most evil and most political album in your discography. Do you agree with this?

“I don't think he is angry.” There is no anger. Only irritation. There are no politicians there either. There are no views there. It is not based on any ideology. This is the look of a person who did not open the window for a long time, but suddenly looking at him, looking around, horrified by what was happening there, and safely closed him.

- When did you open this window? Was there a certain day or moment?

-There are always gaps, and something constantly blows in them. It is difficult to be in full vacuum. Probably, this irritation has matured inside for some time and now it spilled out. And the catalyst was the idea to remove the video clip for the track "520", which we wanted to release a single. But then we decided that it was not very cool to release from one track, let's write three. And then they decided to record four more tracks to get an album.

People relate to this album much more serious than we when they recorded it.

- The songs were easily written?

- Not that it is especially easy. As usual.

- The clip "520" is associated with past presidential elections ...

- It just coincided successfully. We all-the team that worked on this story-was completely different about it and put other meanings into it. Rather, even we put nothing. People relate to this material much more serious than we when they recorded it.

- Are all the coincidences random?

- There is nothing accidental. Something has accumulated, the time has come, and it itself resulted in this story. We did not specifically come up with anything.

- All the written songs entered the album?

- There were still ideas and options. Maybe in the future ... although it is not clear whether it will still be necessary to do something on this topic. I do not want to sit on this red horse and jump on it famously and for a long time. I want this to sound as a remark, not a raised flag.

- Although the flag on the cover is present - battered.

- Well, yes (laughs) .

- This album has a lot of whip phrases, almost aphorisms, which you want to get a comment. For example: "The state ordering the children will always call itself the homeland."

- These are not my words. Once upon a time-about 10 years ago, and maybe more- Esquire magazine made a gallery where everyone was photographed with the statements of famous people. I chose this phrase-it sounded a little different, but the meaning is the same. I completely agree with these words. This is always the case. What we see today is confirmation. A stand with a portrait of a girl in a beret of a junarmia and a slogan “We unite the children of Russia!”. Complete hat! Or when on TV they offer to choose a name for a nuclear rocket - this is not just an overkill, it is P *****. Or a military park with the name "Patriot" - come and shoot. The call of the military from the reserve! A little scary. Here we have a new weapon - and this dude is already flying around the earth on a rocket and scares everyone. All this is dumb. It is going to war.

When on TV they are offered to choose a name for a nuclear rocket - this is not just an overkill, it is P *****.

- At the age of 18, instead of serving in the army, we went to the Boyshore group. How did you succeed?

- recruited (laughs) . For health reasons, I did not go to the army, and somehow the team with a pleasant name turned up successfully. I spent the time there.

- Therefore, the call of the military from the reserve does not threaten you?

- Don't know. Anything can be expected from them.

- On the network you can find many attempts to cultural analysis of the songs of the album. I liked, for example, the conclusion that it follows from the clip “520” that Putin and Navalny essence are the same.

- (Laughs.) Perhaps. I have not seen, however, Navalny there, but if you can see it there and come to this conclusion - I'm only for.

- Did you vote in the presidential election?

- No.

- There was no time or out of principle?

- Not that out of principle. I vote what I do.

- Here is another quote from the album interpretations: “Life is suffering” - this translates the dolphin with his songs, and in his manifestation the first commandment of Buddhism looks bright and undeniable. ”

- Seriously!

“It seems to people that you are a Buddhist.”

- I would not even call the main commandments of this teaching. Perhaps my worldview in something coincides with him, but I am not very familiar with him.

- At the same time, you do not belong to other religions - not a Christian, not a Muslim?

- Not yet.

-And yet: life is pain and suffering and nothing will be good?

- This follows from the fact that people are arranged. It is very difficult to change people. If our world were arranged so that human nature, through some laws, would be subordinated to common sense, then, perhaps, good would be pulled out of people, and the worst was extinguished. But these are just common words. I don’t know how to do this, and it’s not my mind to talk about it.

Religions are a deterrence institution, not an institution of good, reasonable and eternal.

- “And all the heartlessness of the world is nothing. And all prayers are empty. " A believer would say that prayers are just making people better, and the world is more cordial - Vera awakens good in people.

- Religions cannot awaken good people in people. Commandments - they are not to do bad. Do not kill or steal, otherwise you will burn in hell. For many, this works because they are afraid to burn in hell. The less you think, the more you are afraid. And the less you think, the greater the danger you pose. If the commandments work for such people, this is fine. But religion is a restraint institution, not an institution of good, reasonable and eternal. It seems to me that the good in people is laid by parenting, not religious.

- Asceticism of the sound of the previous album “She” you explained by the fact that you yourself composed the bass parties, but you do not know how to play. Is the situation corrected now?

- On this plate, I was mainly engaged in programming. New technologies captured me, and I did most of the work at home. We spent only a few sessions in the studio to record a batch of tools. And with the person who reduced this record, we talked via the Internet. This is very convenient - no need to go anywhere, you spend little time and nerves.

- What new technologies are that?

- The software provided by NATIVE Instruments and Arturia . I think now has come such a period that the recording on analogue equipment is more like a high kitchen. Pleasure for gourmets - came, tried, appreciated the taste and finished it on it. But a similar result can be achieved on the home computer. The moment came when even experts cannot distinguish one from the other.

-The guitarist Igor Babko and drummer Vasily Yakovlev worked on this album, but for some reason only over three tracks.

- I did the rest myself. After the New Year, he was walled up and somehow carried away. New software makes it possible to be practically independent. If there are any questions that I cannot resolve, by virtue of my musical illiteracy, I turn to specialists and they help me. But now I can cope alone and not to bear the brain to the sound engineer with my ideas, as it has been over the past 20 years.

- Another angry line from the new album: "Content manufacturers and the consumers themselves are their dirt." Who are you talking about?

- About yourself, including. I only hope that my content is a little better, because I work on it longer (laughs) .

- What other content do you produce - shoot photos or videos?

- Do not lead Instagram. For myself, I like the video more. Family or tour.

- Do you mount films from them?

-If I see that something turns out to be something, then yes. If I see that it turns out something that will be interested in a few years in a few years, I try to immediately mount.

-The main problem is now that making a photo or video is very easy, but it is difficult to find time to make something meaningful out of these filming.

- I am aware of this. I was on the same trip with a professional operator. He watched me fussing with the camera and all the time I shoot something. And then he said to me: “Why are you shooting all this? Do you understand that you will need to mount this later? " (Laughs.)

- What was your last film about?

- We went with our family to Paris for the New Year. My son Miron turned 10 years old - roughly speaking, the last period when he is still a child. We went to Disneyland until he was 12; At the same time, they themselves remembered how it was a long time ago.

- What were the impressions of Disneyland - Miron and you?

- Miron liked it. True, he turned a blind eye to wild attractions (laughs) . And 10 years ago I had the impression that he was morally outdated. They try to give the attractions a novelty, but it turns out not very well. Although I liked a couple of new attractions.

- What kind of music does Miron listen to?

- He has not yet begun to listen to the music actively. He is still interested in the games.

- With your eldest daughter Eva, did you discuss a new album? Showed her any songs?

- She sent me “applause” (laughs) yesterday to me.

- Eve went to the polls? After all, now young people are especially politically active.

- She walked. She is a normal young man, and that says it all.
