Diaghilev festival announced the program

Today, March 29, at a press conference at the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater, the Program of the XII International Diaghilev Festival, which will be held in Perm from June 14 to June 24, was announced.

The festival will open the dramatic oratorio of Onegger “Jeanne at the stake” in the production of Romeo Castelcucci - co -products of the Perm opera, the Lyon National Opera (France), the La Montne/de Munta (Belgium) and Basel Theater (Switzerland), the Dyagilev festival website reports.

The performance with Audrey Bonne and Denis Lavan in the main roles will go on the stage of the Perm Opera and Ballet Theater during the first three days of the festival. Theodore Krentzis (June 14 and 16) and Peter Belyakin (June 15) will be conducted by the Musicaeterna orchestra.

Also in the Nicht Shlafen ballet program, the Belgian choreographer Alena Payer performed by the artists of his dance company Les Ballets C de la B , the production of Robert Lepage “Needles and Opium” , the stage comparison performed by the Austrian actress Izel Karayan “Miss Death Meeets Mr. Shostakovich and the new project Monit Monk Cellular Songs .

At the Diaghilev festival, chamber evenings, solo concerts and gala outstanding modern musicians will be held. For the first time in recent years, jazz will sound at the festival - the London musician of Russian descent Evgeny Strigalev will perform in Perm.

The Belgian ensemble Graindlavoix will present the program of Byzantine and Greek Polyphony, the Prima of the Perm Opera Nadezhda Pavlov and the pianist Alexei Horbol for the first time in Russia will be performed with a celly piano cycle of Leonid Testnikov “Bukovinsky Songs”.

In the performance of the Moscow ensemble of modern music, the works of George Friedrich Haas, Arvo Pyurt and Enno Poppe, the Musicaeterna choir will perform fragments of the cycle of the Mariana antiphons of the young composer Alexei Retinsky.

Pianists Alexei Lyubimov, Alexander Melnikov, Alexey Zuev and Vyacheslav Poprugin will become participants in the night concert. This year, to the usual venues of the festival - the Private Philharmonic “Triumph”, the Diaghilev’s house, the organ hall and the art gallery - will be added to the DK Soldatova, the TSUZ and the Ural Hotel, in the hall in the new concert format - Sleep Concert - the eight -hour performance of the musicians of the festival orchestra Nikolai Skachkov and Sergey Poltava will be held.

A festival club will work in the square near the theater, where more than 80 events are planned with a total duration of 154 hours. Among them are a show of video versions of the festival in ex-en-provence in the production of Dmitry Chernyakov, Katie Mitchell, Richard Jones, Peter Sellars in the Opera Opera project.

Actual methods of theater, new techniques, language and interpretation opportunities will be discussed at lectures and master classes of the educational program, in which Russian and European experts in the field of modern music and theater will take part.

At the closure of the festival, the festival orchestra, leading the Theodore of Kurentsis will perform the fourth symphony of Mahler and the essays associated with it from the vocal cycle “The Magic Horn of the Boy”.
