The press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov gave his assessment of the actions of journalists who accused the State Duma deputy from the LDPR Leonid Slutsky of sexual harassment. The head of the Kremlin press service connected a series of accusations against the parliamentarian with "tribute".

“There is a specific woman who accuses him of molesting,” the Russian Air Force Service quotes Peskov’s statements at the Tok Show “at the point” at the Faculty of Communications, Media and the design of the Higher School of Economics (HSE). “They have the right to protect themselves in the order established by law. This is not so much associated with the Ethics Commission, no matter how connected with law enforcement agencies.”

At the same time, according to press secretary Vladimir Putin, he does not know that someone "realize his rights to protect honor and dignity in the manner prescribed by law."

“If Slutsky attacked this poor journalist - where was she, why did she endure?” Peskov continued. “They squeezed her in the office ... I don’t know, the girls know better. He can be counted not a very pleasant man. If he squeezed you out, if he was silent? Why didn’t you go to the police? Why did you go to the ethics commission ?”

“There is some kind of tribute to fashion a little. We are trying to keep up with the bacchanalia that is happening in America now,” he appreciated the story with Slutsky, implying a loud scandal in the United States, where many women were accused of rape and sexual harassment of the famous Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein .

Peskov compared these women with prostitutes. “Maybe he was a bastard, but none of them came to the police, did not say that Weinstein raped me. No! I wanted to earn $ 10 million. What is a woman who has been drunk with a man for 10 million dollars? Maybe I say a prostitute rudely,” the Kremlin representative summed up.

Earlier, Peskov, in response to the request of journalists to comment on the decision of the Duma ethics commission regarding Slutsky, said that the Kremlin administration "cannot comment" this decision. "This is a question of the State Duma, this is a question that does not belong to the competence of the presidential administration," he said on March 22. At the same time, he refused to answer the question whether Putin was aware of this whole story.

The scandal around Slutsky flared up at the end of February, when several journalists of the parliamentary pool told Rain that they became victims of harassment from the head of the International State Duma Committee. Later, Slutsky’s harassment was openly announced by the deputy chief company RTVI Ekaterina Kotrikadze, the producer of the Rain television channel Daria Zhuk and the journalist of the Air Force Farid Rustamova.

On March 21, Rustamova and Zhuk considered the Duma commission, which considered the accusations against Slutsky unreasonable and did not find violations in the behavior of the parliamentarian.

After this decision, several dozen media declared a full or partial boycott of the lower house of the Russian parliament and personally Slutsky, for which they were deprived of accreditation to work in the State Duma.

Meanwhile, the inappropriate behavior of Slutsky was also told by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova , who stood up for journalists who accused the deputy of harassment.

Slutsky himself first denied all the accusations of the Harassment, assuring that "there was never this," but on March 8, congratulating women on the holiday, he apologized to those of them to whom he "caused any experiences."
