GoPro introduced an inexpensive Hero action camera

The American company GoPro has updated the line of its action camera, replenishing it with a relatively inexpensive Hero model.

According to The Verge , a device worth $ 199, sales of which started on March 29, outwardly resembles the previously presented Hero 5 and Hero 6 cameras, but differs from them more modest characteristics. In particular, the Hero camera can shoot a video with a resolution of 1440p at a speed of 60 frames per second and does not support 4K format or slowed down. In addition, this camera can shoot 10-MP photos, and not 12 MP, like senior models. Finally, the Hero camera is equipped with a less advanced Ambarella processor and has less built -in shooting modes.

At the same time, the Hero camera boasts a number of functions borrowed from senior models. So, she received a 2-inch touch display, supporting voice commands, digital stabilization in video shooting and protection against water, which allows you to immerse the camera into water to a depth of 9 meters.

Recall that for the past few years, GoPro has been in a difficult financial situation. In early January, the company announced the termination of the production of Karma drones. The reason for the decision to leave the drone market was extremely high competition. Although the Karma drone, presented in 2016, after last year, took second place in the market in its price category, this did not bring GoPro profit. The company also noted that the decision to stop the production of drones was influenced by new legislative restrictions in the sphere of drones that can be adopted in the USA and Europe. Then GoPro announced a reduction in over 250 employees.
