The tragedy in Kemerovo is so monstrous that people want to somehow soften this injury so that they can live on. The central psychological technique here is associated with the normalization of what happened by embedding mass deaths into some kind of familiar system of reasoning. Experts and announcers make long sentences compiled from words like “specialists of the Central Administration of the Russian Emergencies Ministry believe that the genetic examination of the remains can take up to three weeks” or “control and audit authorities have begun checks of trading and entertainment institutions of the region”.

Thus, the split of social reality into two parts is fixed: living - for citizens and accountable - for officials. So it was before, but this still did not concern sorrow.

The most iconic events unfolded, of course, in Kemerovo itself. The eternal governor of the region Aman Tuleyev on the third day after the death of people, never daring to meet citizens face to face, recorded a ten -minute video message. Sitting in his office next to three silent assistants making ritual notes in notebooks, Tuleyev told the residents of the region about how it is not easy for him now. About the provocations that are constantly committed against the governor these days. The wide five Tuleyev swept into the cell several times: for each death, the authorities will pay five million rubles each. “Five million,” the many -year -old owner of the region, who was faced with a “strong business executive” significantly, said. Tuleyev added that all the perpetrators will be punished, and all those present in the frame pretended that they personally did not concern them.

On the same day, the head of the apparatus of the administration of Tuleeva Alexei Zelenin and the head of the Department of Internal Policy Nina Lopatin were dismissed.

They were punished not for a fire in a “winter cherry”, but for the folk rally against the governor the day after the tragedy.

Yes, as they say, because they showed excessive independence, while Tuleyev was sick a few months ago.

At the same time, the successor of Tuleyev was prepared even before the tragedy. It was supposed to become Sergey Tsivilev, who until recently, working as the general director of the coal mining company Kolmar, owned by the structures of Gennady Timchenko. Tsivilev was appointed vice-governor of the Kemerovo region in early March, and previously television recorded his meeting with President Putin, which clearly distinguishes this event from among ordinary personnel decisions. It was Tsivilev that made the main statements on behalf of officials on the tragedy in Kemerovo. They quite predictably came down to the search for enemies destabilizing the situation and “discrediting power” - and this, by the way, is also a way of bureaucratic normalization of the situation. But Tsivilev became famous for the fact that at some point, succumbing to emotions, he stood in front of the crowd of citizens, requiring the truth about the tragedy, on one knee. According to all Russian concepts, this is an unforgivable weakness that will greatly complicate the further political career.

And Tuleyev in the coming months, of course, will leave his post. And forever will remain in history as a person who fell in love with power to cannibalism.
