You can do this on the updated web page for managing your Apple ID. Also, users will be able to temporarily deactivate their account and even delete it completely. For customers in other regions, the feature will be available at a later date.

• The company claims that the changes are related to the new EU data protection regulation (General Data Protection Regulation), which will come into force on May 25, 2018.
