- The company claims that the changes are related to the new EU data protection regulation (General Data Protection Regulation), which will come into force on May 25, 2018. However, write Bloomberg and Engadget , the innovations were announced against the backdrop of a large-scale leak of personal data of 50 million Facebook users.
