Russia will ask Britain about the reasons for checking the Aeroflot aircraft in Khitrovo

The Coordination Center for Air Impressions of the Russian Federation will send a request to the UK about the reasons for checking the Aeroflot aircraft in London, the Ministry of Transport press service said on Saturday. The British media claim that the plane was checked not in connection with the Skripal and Himataku in Salisbury.

"In the absence of explanations, the Russian side will regard these actions in relation to our aircraft unlawful, and also reserves the possibility of similar actions against British air carriers," the department emphasizes.

On the eve of the media reported that the British police officers for no explanation of the reasons staged an inspection of an airplane who arrived from Moscow to London. After the plane arrived from Sheremetyevo to London, and all the passengers left the side, the police climbed aboard and demanded that the crew leave the aircraft to conduct an inspection there. Despite the refusal of the crew, the inspection was still carried out.

On Saturday, sources of the British newspaper The Telegraph said that the search at Khitrov Airport is not related to the investigation of the poisoning of ex-colonel GRU Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia. Britain suspects Russia of organizing a Himakaki using a newcomer.

The network of coordination centers for aviation security was created by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) in early 2006. Currently, centers operate in more than 100 ICAO members. The main objective of such centers is to establish a mechanism for the exchange of critical information between states in the case of threats or acts of illegal interference in the activities of civil aviation or incidents that affect aviation security.
