Aman Tuleyev resigned

The governor of the Kemerovo region Aman Tuleyev ahead of schedule from his post.

On the website of the regional administration, a message was published that Tuleyev wrote a statement addressed to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request for resignation of his own free will.

In a video message to the residents of Kuzbass, Tuleyev said the following: “I consider this to be correct, conscious, the only right decision. Because it is morally impossible to work with such a heavy load in the post of governor. ”

• Aman Tuleyev was elected to the post of head of Kuzbass on July 1, 1997 and has since repeatedly re -elected. Now Tuleyev is 73 years old.
• The governor resigned a week after the fire in the Kemerovo shopping center “Winter Cherry”, as a result of which 64 people were killed. On March 27, at a spontaneous rally in Kemerovo, relatives of the dead and victims in a fire demanded the resignation of the head of the region. Aman Tuleyev did not go to the protesters, instead asking for forgiveness for the fire in the “winter cherry” with Vladimir Putin.
