After the rally, protesters against the Yadrovo landfill in Volokolamsk staged a rally towards Moscow, Dozhd reports .
The rally, which was attended by more than 30 cars, started from the monument "Explosion" near Volokolamsk and proceeded along the Riga highway at a speed of about 20 kilometers per hour. Participants of the action do not intend to reach Moscow.
Earlier on Sunday, a rally was held in Volokolamsk , in which up to 6,000 people took part. Residents of the city demanded the dismissal of the governor of the Moscow region Andrei Vorobyov and the release of activist Artem Lyubimov , who was detained the day before .
Today's protest is not the first in Volokolamsk. Local residents demand to close the Yadrovo landfill, which emits gas from which they have to breathe. Earlier, many residents, mostly children, went to the hospital complaining of feeling unwell, but doctors did not associate the poisoning with landfill gas.
