London overtook New York by the number of murders

The London police are concerned about the growth of serious crimes committed in the city. Over the past two months, the capital of Great Britain was first ahead of New York in the United States by the number of murders.

According to Leroy Logan, the former chief superintendent of the London police, violence in the British capital spreads "at the speed of the virus." Since 2014, the increase in the number of murders in the city, excluding victims of terrorist attacks, amounted to 38 percent.

However, according to Leroy Logan, the murder situation causes serious concern, and the police may not be enough.

“I can’t understand how the situation got out of control. We observe a sharp increase in violence. This outbreak has touched very different layers of society. It is necessary to approach the solution of this problem comprehensively, because it itself is comprehensive. It must be solved in public cooperation,” says Logan.

In February, the head of the London police of Cressida Dick visited Glasgow to get acquainted with the experience of Scotland, where the number of murders decreased sharply.
