The Istra city court arrested Artem Lyubimov, a participant in the movement against the Yadrovo landfill near Volokolamsk, for 15 days. This was tweeted by lawyer Denis Kuraev, who represents the interests of the activist.
Artem Lyubimov was charged with disobedience to a police officer (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
On April 1, Lyubimov went on a hunger strike at the Istra city police department, where he was left pending trial.
The activist was detained when he was traveling from Moscow to Volokolamsk. At the gas station, three cars drove up to him, one of which was a police car, the other two were unmarked. Law enforcement officers examined the car in which the activist was located, after which they took him to the Istra police department.
In his blog, Denis Kunaev wrote that Lyubimov was followed for several days before being detained.
On April 1, Artem Lyubimov was supposed to speak in Volokolamsk at a rally against a landfill. The activist's defender emphasized that Lyubimov was announced as the main speaker of the event.
