The artistic director of the Moscow Theatre.doc, Mikhail Ugarov, has died
The famous playwright, founder and artistic director of the documentary play theater Theater.doc Mikhail Ugarov died at the age of 63. This was reported on the theater's Facebook page.
“Our artistic director, founder of Theatre.doc, director and playwright Mikhail Ugarov has died. We have neither the words nor the strength to talk about it now. We love you very much, Mikhail Yuryevich,” the message says.
According to director Marina Razbezhkina, Ugarovdied of a sudden heart attack.
Theater.doc was created in 2002. This is a non-state and independent project. The performances took part in prestigious festivals in Poland, France, Germany, Hungary, the Baltic countries, and in major Russian cities. The theater received the “Most Creative Theater” award from the Creative magazine in 2003 and the Stalker film festival in 2005.
Mikhail Ugarov staged such performances as “The War of the Moldovans for a Cardboard Box”, “The Blue Locksmith”, “Hour Eighteen”, “Life is Good”, “Two in Your House”, “Alaska”, “The Man from Podolsk” and others.
