The defender of the National Revolutionary Vanguard activist, detained on March 18 in St. Petersburg, Ksenia Korchilova, stated that her client was tortured by an employee of the E center.
According to the woman, her client, Evgeny Solovyov, who was detained on March 18 for trying to hang a poster dedicated to election fraud with the text: “Our candidate is a Russian riot,” was beaten by an employee of the Center for Countering Extremism who did not give his last name. This happened after Solovyov was taken to the 19th police department in the Vyborg district.
“They hit him in the back of the head and on the head, pointed a gun at him, tried to find out something about other NRA members. In addition, they took some kind of explanatory note, which was then not even attached to the case,” Korchilova told OVD-Info.
“On April 3, a trial was held under Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code. I called a witness, detained with him and his comrades, who saw everything that happened in the department. While she was waiting in the corridor of the court for her turn, one of the employees of Center “E”, who was on site that day, approached her, as soon as I tried to photograph him, he began to threaten me and promised to find out my information,” continues the defender.
According to her, in the evening of the same day, employees of the center allegedly came to her home, but did not find her at home. The parents, who were in the apartment at that moment, did not open the door.
On March 19, another protest participant, Anton Belichenko, was arrested by the court for 10 days. Later, he told a member of the St. Petersburg POC, Yana Teplitskaya, who visited Belichenko in a special detention center, that at the police department they also beat him, forcing him first to give the password for his cell phone, and then to confess to the offense.
