The Oktyabrsky District Court of Saransk in Mordovia sentenced the student of the university, the future philologist Olga Fomina, as well as her lover Demyan Atemaskin. A young couple was found guilty of drug distribution. The lovers were going to spend the proceeds to spend on a wedding celebration.

23-year-old student Olga Fomina was sentenced in the form of six years in a general regime colony. And Atemaskin will spend 7.5 years in a maximum security penal colony, the official website of the district court reports. Demyan will also pay a fine of 30 thousand rubles.

As follows from the materials of the criminal case, the student of the philological faculty of Moscow State University named after Ogarev Olga Fomina and her non-working peer-livingman Demyan Atemaskin were detained on September 3, 2017 by employees of the Office for Drug Control of the Regional Ministry of Internal Affairs. The operatives seized 400 grams of synthetic drugs from suspects. These substances atemaskin and his bride were going to sell in the region, they write Izvestia Mordovia .

According to investigators, large parties of "synthetics" brought the accused from different Volga regions, taking drugs from hiding places (the investigators failed to find a supplier). Returning to Saransk, the suspects fed “goods” and delivered it to the addresses in Saransk and in the nearby areas of Mordovia. Transactions were carried out in a contactless way, using "bookmarks". The addresses of equipped caches are a student and its roommate was handed over to his "curator". For each equipped cache with drugs, he paid lovers for 200-300 rubles.

Crimes have been committed by a couple since May 2017. According to the detainees, they wanted to earn their wedding, which was supposed to take place on March 9, 2018. For a few months, the lovers accumulated a million rubles for two.

The court noted that the attackers were engaged in drug trafficking "using the information and telecommunication network Internet."

Atemaskin was charged with p. "G" of Part 4 of Art. 228.1, part 3 of Art. 30, part 5 of Art. 228.1 ("Illegal turnover of drugs on a large scale, as well as an attempt on the sale of drugs on an especially large scale") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Only on the fourth part of this article, the young man threatened the punishment from 10 to 20 years in prison.

In addition, in relation to Demyan Atemaskin, the case was opened under Part 1 of Art. 174.1 ("laundering of funds") of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. With the money proceeds from the sale of drugs, he performed financial transactions in order to legalize these income. Using the Internet, Demyan first credited the money on a personal account, issued to a dummy person, and then transferred it to a bride’s bank card. Then the money was cashed or spent directly from the card through cashless payments.

Fomina was charged with p. "G" of Part 4 of Art. 228.1, part 3 of Art. 30, part 5 of Art. 228.1 of the Criminal Code.

In court, the accused fully pleaded guilty. When sentencing, the court also took into account other mitigating circumstances: "Repentance in the deed, active contribution to the disclosure and investigation of the crimes committed, the residence of the defendants in a civil marriage with each other and the intention to create a family, as well as the state of health of young people and their relatives."

In addition, the accused had no criminal records and were not brought to administrative responsibility.

"Atemaskin is positively characterized by its place of residence, the place of study and when the military service is held. Fomina O. A., having graduated with honors, continued to study at the magistracy of Moscow State University named after N.P. Ogarev Saransk and was described exclusively positively by the dean of the faculty," the court said.

Olga Fomina "has a number of letters, certificates indicating her active activity both when studying at a university and in high school, which she also graduated with honors."
