Tuleyev was nominated for speaker of the regional council

The ex-governor of Kuzbass Aman Tuleev was nominated as the speaker of the regional council. He was supported by a group of federal parliamentarians.

State Duma deputies from the Kemerovo region turned to Acting Governor Sergei Tsivilev with a request to support the nomination of Tuleev for the post of speaker of the regional council.

“Under the leadership of Governor Tuleev, we managed to overcome the crisis, stop the closure of mines, take a course towards the modernization of industry,” reads the appeal published by State Duma deputy Anton Gorelkin. — Over the years, Kuzbass has become one of the most developed industrial regions of Russia, and mining labor is highly valued and in demand on the labor market. A unique system of social support has been created that covers all segments of the population - this includes a Kuzbass pension, free travel and treatment, benefits for housing and communal services for the older generation <…>”

The appeal to Tsivilev was signed by State Duma deputies, Tuleyev's former press secretary Anton Gorelkin, Evgeny Kosyanenko, Tuleyev's ex-deputy Dmitry Islamov, Tatyana Alekseeva, Alexander Maksimov, Vladimir Melnik and Pavel Fedyaev. Opposite the name of the eighth parliamentarian - Alexander Fokin - there is no signature.

“The same letters were sent to the Public Chamber, the Kuzbass Council of Veterans, to municipal councils, deputies of the regional council and, of course, to the chairman of the regional Council of People's Deputies Alexei Sinitsyn, the most promising Kuzbass politician. We were all brought up by Tuleev, he raised us,” Gorelkin wrote on Facebook.

All those who signed the appeal to Tsivilev are members of the United Russia faction.

“The name of Aman Tuleyev is associated by everyone in Russia with a strong and fair leader, a stable Kuzbass, and protection of the interests of the population of the mining region,” the letter says.

Tuleev resigned on April 1 after a spontaneous rally on March 27, when thousands of people demanded his resignation amid the tragedy at the Zimnyaya Cherry shopping center. During the fire, we recall, 64 people died, most of them children. However, during the protest, he, in a conversation with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, called those who came to the Soviet Square "buzzers"

However, Tuleev, who headed the United Russia list in the elections to the regional council in 2013 and renounced his mandate, immediately received the seat of deputy Wang Wai-Chen. He refused the mandate in 2016, and his place remained vacant for more than a year - neither the election commission nor the regional branch of United Russia could explain why this happened.

Sergey Tsivilev, Tuleev's deputy, who until recently headed the Kolmar coal mining company, was appointed acting head of the region, billionaire Gennady Timchenko was among his partners.
