Media: the United States will impose sanctions against Russian oligarchs on Friday

In the White House on Friday, they are going to announce the introduction of new sanctions against some Russian oligarchs for intervention in the 2016 presidential election. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal.

The restrictions will be introduced against Russian businessmen belonging to the ruling elite, the publication says. As Bloomberg clarifies , new sanctions can be imposed against six to ten oligarchs, whose names are in a closed part of the Kremlin Report.

Restrictive measures will be introduced on the basis of the sanctions law that US President Donald Trump signed in August 2017.

The introduction of new sanctions was planned by the American administration before an attempt on a former GRU employee Sergei Skripal, the WSJ article notes.

On April 5, Reuters reported the upcoming introduction of sanctions. In the publication, new measures were called the very gesture of all that were applied against large Russian businessmen so far.
