Human rights activist Alena Popova created a website about the harassment of Leonid Slutsky

Human rights activist Alena Popova, together with Project W volunteers, launched website the No to Harassment! dedicated to State Duma deputy Leonid Slutsky. She herself wrote about this on Facebook.

The website posted an appeal to the Prosecutor General's Office demanding an investigation into Slutsky. It also published an appeal to the speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin; in particular, it refers to the need to amend the gender equality law on harassment.

The creator of the site calls for copying these appeals and sending them to recipients through the websites of the Parliament and the Prosecutor General's Office.

In addition, the site contains a link to a petition by the former press secretary of the Nashi movement and Rosmolodezh, Kristina Potupchik, calling for a criminal case against Slutsky, published on Change.org in early March.

• State Duma deputy Leonid Slutsky was openly accused of harassment by three journalists. Two of them complained about him to the Duma commission on ethics. The commission found no violations in the behavior of the deputy. Slutsky was publicly supported by other deputies and speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
• In protest against the decision of the ethics commission, a number of media outlets refused to cover the activities of Slutsky or the State Duma. In response, the State Duma apparatus deprived 48 journalists of four publications of their accreditation.
• Alena Popova is a co-founder of the Women's Mutual Aid Network "Project W" and co-author of a draft law on the prevention of domestic violence. On April 2-3, she held solo pickets near the State Duma for two days in a row against Slutsky with a cardboard figure of a deputy. For this she was detained three times. For the third time, an administrative protocol was drawn up against Popova for violating the procedure for holding public events.
