The Wall Street Journal has announced the date for the introduction of new US sanctions against Russian oligarchs.
According to the newspaper , the next package of sanctions will be introduced on April 6. The WSJ cites its own sources. The publication notes that the new restrictions are likely to increase diplomatic tensions between the West and Russia.
The sanctions are in response to Russia's alleged meddling in the 2016 US presidential election. Earlier it was reported that six to ten Russians could fall under them. According to media reports, the team of special prosecutor Robert Mueller interrogated two Russian oligarchs in the case of Moscow's interference in the presidential election. Earlier it was reported that billionaires Roman Abramovich, Viktor Vekselberg and Mikhail Prokhorov could have been interrogated .
