In St. Petersburg, the court did not recognize the dismissal of a transgender person from a “male” job as discrimination

The city court of St. Petersburg upheld the decision of the Frunzensky court, which did not consider the dismissal of transgender Anastasia Vasilyeva as discrimination. This was reported on the website of the LGBT organization Vykhod.

In the summer of 2017, Vasilyeva was fired from her position as a gravure printer, justified by the fact that the profession was included in the list of “harmful to women’s health” jobs by a government decree of February 25, 2000. The authorities decided to dismiss immediately after the woman changed her gender in her passport.
