Roskomnadzor filed a lawsuit to restrict access to Telegram to the Tagansky District Court. This is reported by TASS, referring to the press service of the department.
The lawsuit was filed due to the fact that the company did not provide the FSB with the keys to decrypt user messages.
In July 2017, the FSB demanded that the company provide keys to decrypt user messages. Telegram called this requirement technically unfeasible and tried to challenge it in several instances. On March 20, 2018, the company's claim was rejected by the Supreme Court.
Roskomnadzor gave the messenger 15 days to provide encryption keys. Deadline expired April 4th.
