Electronics' headquarters Prosecutors searched after-sales service offices at Samsung in Suwon, Yonhap news agency reported , citing the Seoul District Prosecutor's Office.

The searches come as part of a renewed investigation into allegations that the South Korean company was sabotaging workers' efforts to form an independent union. A Samsung spokesman confirmed that prosecutors had seized the documents.

The investigation into Samsung began in 2013 after the publication of an alleged corporate document containing recommendations to prevent workers from forming their own unions. However, the case was closed because the prosecutor's office could not confirm the authenticity of the document.

According to South Korean media, these documents, which describe the company's anti-union strategies, were discovered during searches in connection with Samsung's bribery case against the former president of South Korea.

The tech giant is often criticized by politicians and social activists for not participating in the creation of strong labor organizations, and Samsung's existing unions tend to be small and weak, the agency notes.
