In Kazan, a protester was detained against the garbage plant

In Kazan, the police detained activist Irina Nikiforova. She was taken to the police department along with a young child, who had no one to leave at home with. This was reported on the Netmszkzn account page on Instagram, dedicated to protests against the construction of a garbage plant.

The reason for the detention of Nikiforova was the repost of the report about the campaign against the plant, which was planned to be held on April 7. The police drew up a protocol for the activist under part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event). For some time, she spent the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazan in the police department No. 16 of Yapeev, then she was taken to the Vakhitovsky district court with the child, which should consider the administrative case.

On April 5, Nikiforova, during a meeting with Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin, asked him if he would come to a rally on April 7.

Yesterday, two other activists were detained opposing the construction of the garbage plant: Gulnaz Smirnov and Guzel Khalilov. They also drew up protocols under part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Smirnov was fined 10 thousand rubles, Khalilov was released from the court after three hours of waiting for the meeting, which never happened.

Earlier, the city administration did not agree on a rally on April 7, referring to the fact that at the appointed time in the territory where the action was planned, other events will be held. In addition, the authorities did not agree on a similar rally in the village of Osinovo. One of the organizers of the action in Osinovo Vera Kudyupepyakova said “Idel. The realities ”that the prosecutor’s office was awarded a warning about the inadmissibility of an administrative offense.

The organizers of the rally in Kazan decided to cancel the holding of the action due to the pressure of the authorities.

UPD 15:30 Nikiforov was fined 10 thousand rubles. In Osinovo, contrary to the efforts of the authorities, a meeting of local residents and communication with media representatives took place.

• Disputes about the construction of a garbage plant in Kazan have been going on over the past two years. The city formed a movement against the construction of the plant, united with movements from the Moscow Region, where Rostec also proposes to build similar enterprises.
• The garbage plant should be built in the Zelenodolsky district of Tatarstan, in the village of Osinovo. The land on which they are going to build a plant already belongs to the construction investor-the subsidiary of Rostec Corporation RT-Invest. At the garbage plant, it is planned to dispose of up to 50% of all solid household waste of Kazan. Construction is supposed to begin in October 2018, and put the plant into operation in 2022.
