1938 Artem Vesely was shot

80 years ago, on April 8, 1938, the writer Artyom Vesely (Nikolai Kochkurov) was shot in Moscow.

As early as June 5, 1937, Yezhov wrote to Stalin: “According to the testimony of the arrested Trotskyist Voronsky, Artem VESELY in 1934, in a conversation with him, showed his hatred for the leadership of the CPSU (b) and terrorist sentiments, declaring: “I would put a cannon on Red Square and I would shoot point-blank at the Kremlin."

According to the latest undercover data, Artem VESELY is closely connected with the counter-revolutionary-minded writer V.K. BAGROV. (Kuibyshev). Together with BAGROV, A. VESELY intended to write a poem praising the executed members of the Trotskyist-Zinoviev center (“Death of the Glorious”), which they planned to publish abroad.

In 1956, Artem Vesely was rehabilitated.
