Such a bill intends to introduce to the State Duma the deputy chairman of the Duma Committee on Inform Policy Andrei Svintsov, representing this faction in parliament.
State Duma deputy chairman of the Information Committee Andrei Svintsov believes that since colleagues rejected the bill on registration on social networks on a passport, we must look for another way to carry out this registration:
“It is clear that social networks require regulation. Those citizens who use them to promote their business or themselves personally, as well as engage in advertising activities, will only be happy if their activities in social networks are protected. ”
According to Svintsov, the ID address registration proposal must be prescribed in the legislation so that no one can break accounts. The parliamentarian recalled that many fake celebrity accounts and politicians are created in social networks, after which illegal and fraudulent information spreads on their behalf.
“Therefore, we, together with the professional community, need to already take measures to stop such behavior,” said Svintsov.
The deputy notes that the time has come when social networks also treat as serious business.
In turn, the head of the Duma Committee on Inform Policy Leonid Levin at a hearing about the regulation of social networks in the State Duma said that the regulation of social networks should not contradict the principle of freedom of speech: “We must understand the role of social networks in our lives. They influence a wide range of users, but they are not required to broadcast reliable information, unlike the media. ”
