The Ministry of Finance proposed introducing duties on online purchases over 500 euros six months earlier

The Ministry of Finance has proposed lowering the duty-free entry threshold for online purchases to 500 euros per month from July 1, and not from 2019, as previously planned.

The draft government decree, prepared by the Ministry of Finance, also proposes to speed up the reduction of the threshold for duty-free importation of online purchases to 200 euros and introduce it from 2019, and not from 2020.

• Now in Russia, without paying a fee, you can receive online purchases for a total amount of no more than a thousand euros and a total weight of no more than 31 kilograms per person per month. In case of excess, the duty will be 30%.
• Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev announced in February that the threshold for duty-free importation of goods in 2018 would remain at the level of one thousand euros. In 2019, it was planned to reduce it to 500 euros, and in 2020 to 200 euros.
• The threshold for duty-free importation of goods into the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union is jointly determined by the EAEU countries (Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan).
