White walls, glass boxes, and in them are small iron cribs. The delicate smell of milk is mixed with medicines. The letter "T" are the cribs of Nina and Alice. A step away from them is an adult bed. This is for mothers who do not have babies. But there is a Lada that comes here every day.
Girls cough so loudly that they surrender in their heads and the heart is compressed with fear. It is not clear how tiny bodies withstand such strong attacks.
“The monthly Alice was brought very severe, with temperature and suspicion of pneumonia. She wheezed and practically did not breathe herself, ”says Lada. - They connected oxygen, put a catheter for injections, and there are no veins on tiny handles at all. Ninochka was easier, but also burned and coughing with a whistle. She is seven months old, but she looks just a little more than Alisochka - such a tiny inch. I came to the babies a few hours after their receipt, and spun: inhalations, droppers, bottles, injections. ”
A nurse enters the ward every now and then, gives instructions and medicines. In addition to girls and Lada, in the ward there is another six -year -old baby with temperature, but he does not get off his mother and does not get off for a minute.
“We will do inhalation in the ward today,” says Lada to the nurse, “you have a lot of fresh there, we’ll suddenly become infected.”

The girl calms down, as if understanding, and breathes smoothly and deeply. Gently touching her head with her lips, Lada admits that she always dreamed of such a work.
“Since childhood, I took care of someone: at school, in a pioneer camp,” she recalls. - Most tenderness was caused by babies, up to four years old. They are the most defenseless, they cannot say where it hurts and what is inconvenient. And without parents - more doubly vulnerable. I remember how in Soviet times with a little daughter I was lying in the ward, where there were glass walls, and we, mothers, saw the refuseniks in the neighborhood ... Then I told myself that no child should be alone. Especially when he is sick. "
When a few years ago Lada saw an announcement of the recruitment of nannies for children's hospitals, this picture with refuseniks surfaced before my eyes. I collected documents and passed the selection. At first, she continued to work as a hairdresser in her free from duty. But I soon realized that it was impossible to combine, because all of itself leaves here in children's chambers.
Lada with baby photo: Anton Petrov for TDThe most pleasant thing, Lada says, watch how the kids are transformed. They go to the hospital-the eyes are, they look at the sneaky. A week or two-and calm down, thaw, begin to smile. For example, in Nina you can’t say that she will soon return to the orphanage. He looks cunningly, laughs, spits a nipple and tries to grab a finger.
“On the first day, I generally thought that she did not hear and did not see. No response to my affection and tenderness, ”says Lada. “But it turned out that she is a very responsive child.” Loves massage very much. The masseuse comes, all the children cry, and she smiles, freezes, is afraid to breathe, so she is pleased. And she went well very quickly. Alice is still worse, she is very small, it is difficult for her to cough. ”
Lada says that there are situations when the child has parents, but they are not allowed to stay in the hospital. For example, once for three weeks Lada lay with four -year -old Tanya. All this time, the question was decided who to give the girl after discharge - parents or guardianship. The situation was strange: they said that his mother hesitated with dinner, dad shouted at her, the child cried, and the neighbors heard and informed the police. The guardian seized the girl until the circumstances, and the child - just from the family - ended up in the hospital. While the baby was treated, mom and dad corrected the situation and drawn up documents. And when they came to visit her daughter, Lada put the girl on the windowsill to smell. Dad cried and said that they really want to return Tanya. And returned. After the treatment, everyone went home together, and Lada dad and mom kissed and handed her a chocolate.

Often they do not advise taking orphans in the hospital. They get used to it. But how else to help the baby cleared his throat, how to hold a mask with inhalation, and just stroke the back so that it is not so scary from the injection.
“I am with them with my own: I kiss, stroke, clap on the ass. It happens that I’ll put it into the corridor, and other mothers - "oh, how it looks like you."
Lada has a favorite - Marina, with whom she periodically lies in hospitals for several years. The fund knows that if Marina gets to the hospital, it is Lada who will lie with her. Marina has many malformations. She does not walk and does not talk, although she is already four years old. But, according to Lada, this is such a firefly - sincere, smiling, pleased with everyone in the world. Lada talks about Marina and smiles herself.

Mom, well -groomed, prosperous, regularly came to the ward, brought diapers, clothes - and cried. Mom had a special permission to visit. But there was no strength at all. Doctors advised her to leave her daughter in the hospital, as they needed round -the -clock observation and care. Mom took Ksyusha to the pens, fed, kissed and left, repeating everything to Lada, who remained with the girl: "Thank you, thank you." And the baby only looked at one point with her large eyes, similar to her mother.
“Sweet ... I got naught, breathed and fell asleep,” Lada, finally, carefully shifts Alice into the crib and worries that her change is about to end. She does not want to leave at all. Because the child should not be left alone, especially if he is sick.
Orphan children go to the hospital for various reasons. These can be refusers from maternity hospitals, sick pupils of orphan institutions or children with guardianship authorities. And for a child who has ended up in the hospital in complete solitude, the care and care of an adult is important as treatment.
Lada photo: Anton Petrov for TDThe program “I want to handle” the Happy Children charity foundation helps to solve this problem. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the fund hires nannies, who are around the clock in hospitals with babies aged zero to four years. Nannies not only collaborate with the medical staff of the hospital and take care of children. They give children care, affection, attention and support so that they are not lonely and scary in the hospital. Please subscribe to monthly donations so that no child feels lonely.
