The students of Moscow State University, opposing the placement of the fan zone for the 2018 Football Championship at the main building of the university, held a series of single pickets near the Moscow City Hall. This was reported by Novaya Gazeta by the initiative group of Moscow State University.

The Faculty of Physics, Maria Cheremnova, said that Moscow mayor Sergei Sobyanin does not come in contact with students of Moscow State University, opposing the construction of a fan zone and holding a "festival of fans" next to the university. Students want to meet with him, since, according to them, it is he who can solve the issue of transferring the fan zone.

“We want them to find any reserve platform that will fit. We are not experts in this, so we cannot make some kind of conclusion, ”Cheremnova added.

Today, students of Moscow State University intend to transfer a petition to the city hall against the placement of the fan zone near the university. It was signed by more than 13 thousand people.

On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Russia-2018 Organizing Committee Arkady Dvorkovichheld a closed meeting with students of Moscow State University, opposing the construction of the Fan Zone to the 2018 World Cup at the University of Fan-zone. The meeting was also attended by the head of the Department of Sports and Tourism of Moscow Nikolai Gulyaev and the General Director of the Russia-2018 Organizing Committee Alexei Sorokin. Dvorkovich told the students that the final decision on the place of placement of the fan zone and holding the Festival of Fans has not yet been adopted.
