Truckers fined for protesting against Platon filed a complaint with the ECHR

The truckers' complaint states that the authorities violated their right to freedom of assembly and association, as well as the right to a fair trial (Articles 11 and 6 of the European Convention on Human Rights).

On March 27, 2017, men participated in a meeting of carriers against the Platon system: about 200 drivers lined up cars on the side of the M-7 highway near Kazan.

In April last year, the Pestrechinsky District Court of Tatarstan fined Lukin and Abramov 10,000 rubles. The court found them guilty of violating the procedure for holding a rally (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The Supreme Court of the Republic upheld the decision of the district court.
