In Nizhny Tagil, the parents of an operative accused of murdering a detainee went on a hunger strike after his arrest

In Nizhny Tagil, the parents of Interior Ministry operative Yegor Yalunin, who was transferred from house arrest to a pre-trial detention center, went on a hunger strike, reports the All News agency.

It is alleged that Sergei and Yulia Yalunin sent a message to the head of the Investigative Committee for the Dzerzhinsky district of the Sverdlovsk region Denis Kelbikhanov and investigator Evgeniy Komarov that they were refusing to eat. In addition, the agency distributed an open letter from the Yalunins.

“We ask that this matter be taken under control. So that all the circumstances of this case are considered, so that there is no “formal approach to it: since you are a policeman, that means you are guilty of everything,” says the appeal from the parents of the Ministry of Internal Affairs officer.

As follows from the letter, the parents of the arrested policeman are sure that the detainee Stanislav Golovko, in whose death their son is accused, was injured, because after the arrest “he began to hallucinate and began to mutilate himself.”

At the same time, a post-mortem examination showed that in addition to a subcutaneous hematoma of the forehead with subsequent cerebral hemorrhage, he suffered fractures of eight ribs and multiple bruises of the feet, fingers and toes, neck, chest, elbows, thighs, buttocks, abdomen and face.

“Mediazona” wrote in detail about how Stanislav Golovko died on October 3, 2017. He was under administrative arrest, and operatives Anatoly Bykov, Yegor Yalunin and Dmitry Panov took him from the temporary detention center to the police department.

The police took him to the hospital with numerous injuries, where he died. Three operatives were arrested in the case of causing grievous bodily harm resulting in death (Part 4 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code), but in early April, the judge of the Dzerzhinsky District Court, Natalya Ilyutik, refused to extend the security forces’ term of detention in a pre-trial detention center and sent them under house arrest.

The prosecutor's office appealed this decision, and the Sverdlovsk Regional Court decided to return Yalunin to arrest.
