Telegram blocked. How to use it now?

It is convenient. In almost all ordinary browsers there are extensions or built-in functions of anonymizer-through them you can use the Telegram web version. And there is a Tor browser. There are many paid and free VPN services for phones.

What is the catch. When using VPN on the phone, all traffic will go through an additional server. If the server is good (and it has a wide communication channel), you will not notice anything. But if it is strongly loaded (this is especially noticeable in free VPN), the response time and speed will decrease - not only in Telegram, but also in other applications.

How to configure? First, select the service: they are for iOS, Android and desktop computers - there are many paid and free options (dial in the search for “VPN”). Either the application itself will configure the VPN, or offer to do this in several simple and understandable steps. Installing the Tor browser on the computer is even easier .

The proxy server in Telegram

It is convenient. Back in 2017, when Roskomnadzor was first threatened with blocking, Telegram released an update “for freedom of speech”. Now inside the application itself you can configure a proxy server that works approximately like a VPN. And these settings can be easily shared with friends or in a public channel.

What is the catch. Find the address of the working proxy server (they are also paid and free) is more difficult than VPN. And it is subject to the same problems-if everyone begins to connect to the same free proxy server, then most likely the speed will fall (but only inside Telegram).

How to configure? The easiest way is to find the link settings. There are special bots for this. You can also choose the most convenient server from the list and manually prescribe its settings in Telegram - this is done in three clicks .

Roskomnadzor theoretically can block all this

Since November 1, 2017, a law has been in force in Russia, according to which any anonymizer (no matter, VPN, Tor or proxy server) must block access to sites from the register of prohibited. If the service refuses to fulfill the law, then its addresses will already be blocked at the level of providers. As of the end of February, Roskomnadzor never forced anonymizers to fulfill the law - for this he needs an order of the FSB.

If the Russian authorities are seriously taking up the blocking of any access to Telegram, it can only be used through non -public Tor servers, multilayer VPNs and similar bypass mechanisms that cannot be called convenient.
