Today, for the first time since Monday, trading opened not with a sharp rise in the dollar, but with its slight decline .
- At 10:30 Moscow time, it dropped to 61.6 rubles/$. Despite the fact that yesterday after a tweet by Donald Trump with the words “get ready, Russia, they [missiles to Syria] will arrive,” the dollar broke through the mark of 65 rubles / $.
- One of the positive signals for the ruble could be the statement by US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin that he opposes the imposition of sanctions on the Russian public debt. On Tuesday, the news that such a bill was submitted to the Senate was one of the reasons for the fall of the Russian currency.
- So far, everything is happening exactly as analysts polled by The Bell predicted: when there are no new reports about Syria and sanctions, the dollar returns to the range of 59-62 rubles / $. As soon as the news appears, it jumps up and rises to 65 rubles / $ and can grow further.
What do I get from this?
The correction may not be long - for example, until Trump's first new tweet, which, as we already remember, wakes up at 13-14:00 Moscow time. But the fact that the market for the first time since the beginning of the week was able to open trading calmly is already a good sign.
