On Friday evening, the domain names of Telegram web resources - Telegram.org, Web.telegeam.org and T.me - appeared in the register of prohibited sites of Roskomnadzor. At the same time, the application itself is still working in Russia-IP addresses of servers, which the program is connected until they block.

Communication operators will begin to block the messenger itself on April 16, Interfax reports with reference to a source familiar with the decision of the censorship department.

After the court’s decision, Durov promised on his VK page that Telegram would begin to use built-in methods for bypassing locks in order to save users from the need to overcome locks on their own. “However, one hundred percent accessibility of the service without VPN is not guaranteed,” he warned.

Durov did not exclude that in the first hours of locking, third-party VPN services and proxy servers will be overloaded, which will affect the speed of work.

The blocking, he continued, does not prevent the service centrally sending notifications to all Russian users, informing about the development of the situation.

"Important: do not delete and do not reinstall Telegram in case of link problems. Try to download Telegram updates in the AppStore or Google Play in a timely manner," Durov emphasized.

The application for blocking the messenger of the RKN filed last Friday . The reason was the non -fulfillment by the administration of the service of the censorship department to transfer the encryption keys to the FSB within 15 days. The requirement was sent after the decision of the Supreme Court made on March 20, which declared legal order the FSB on the procedure for providing messengers of messengers.
