In Serpukhov, a Left Bloc activist was detained before a rally against a landfill

In Serpukhov, people who introduced themselves as members of the criminal investigation department detained Stanislav Kiryushkin, an activist from the Left Bloc. This was reported to OVD-Info via a hotline by a man from the press service of the movement.

According to his comrades, Kiryushkin is in the Serpukhovskoye police department. The Left Block connects the detention of the activist with a rally against the Lesnaya solid waste landfill, which is due to start at 12 noon. According to them, Kiryushkin actively participated in organizing this action.

UPD On April 15 , Kiryushkin told OVD-Info that law enforcement officers came to his house after a complaint was received from an anonymous person that he supposedly kept extremist materials at his house, which he would distribute at the rally. They conducted an inspection in his apartment, found nothing, and took the young man to the police department. Kiryushkin was kept there until 12.40 noon. According to the activist, the police left him alone for a long time. As a result, law enforcement officers drew up only a protocol for inspecting the activist’s apartment.

• In December 2017, a protocol was drawn up against Kiryushkin for participating in a hunger strike, the requirement of which was the closure of the Lesnaya solid waste landfill. The police considered the hunger strike to be an uncoordinated rally, and charged the activist with participation in it (part 5 of article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
