Today, April 16, Roskomnadzor sent information to Russian telecom operators to restrict access to the resources of the Telegram messenger.

The message about this is posted on the website of Roskomnadzor. Access is limited to Internet versions, a web client and Telegram application, Interfax reports.

As the head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, explained, the blocking process "will take several hours, since the operators unload it, and ... will gradually increase." Zharov noted that Roskomnadzor today will also send requests demanding that the Telegram application be deleted to the App Store and Google Play online stores.

On April 13, the Tagansky District Court of Moscow decided to establish a restriction of access to Telegram on the territory of Russia in the lawsuit of Roskomnadzor , filed due to the fact that the messenger administration refused to transfer the FSB keys to encryption of user messages.

Telegram lawyers intend to appeal today's court decision in the Moscow City Court. The founder of Telegram Pavel Durovtalked about how the messenger will work in the conditions of blocking, and gave recommendations to its Russian users.
