In Yerevan, protesters against the appointment of ex-president of Armenia Serge Sargsyan, the country's prime minister, blocked a number of key roads in the city center, Interfax reports . The parliament of Armenia should choose a new premiere of the country on Tuesday.

Judging by photographs and video recordings, several thousand people participate in the action. The demonstrators were blocked by Bagramyan and Mashtots, as well as the streets of Abovyan, Muscovy and Saryan in the center of the Armenian capital, said News.am.

Demonstrators fall on the asphalt without missing the car. The police do not interfere with them.

At the parliament building there are clashes with security forces. The protesters staged a procession to parliament, stumbled upon a police cordon and broke through it.

In the morning, supporters of the opposition tried to block the Erytasardakan station of the Yerevan metro: they subsided between the doors of the train wagons, trying to prevent him from departure. Police brought the participants in the action from the station.

The protests were begun at the initiative of the leader of the head of the opposition faction "Elk" Nikola Pashinyan. He urged supporters to join the "mass shares of civil disobedience": block bridges and roads, break the work of the subway, cash out all the money from bank accounts.

The last time the mass shares were held in Armenia in 2016 during the capture of the Sasna Tsrer detachment, led by the retired colonel of the country's army, Varuzhan Avetisyan, the police base in Yerevan. At the end of July 2016, activists voluntarily surrendered to the authorities and were arrested. Now they are judged.

In June-September 2015, promotions were held in Yerreva against raising electricity tariffs. Demonstrators blocked Bagramyan Avenue. In September, the action was dispersed by the police .
