In Tatarstan, the car of a participant in a protest against a waste incineration plant was smashed

In Tatarstan, in the village of Osinovo, the car of Farida Gilmutdinova, an activist of the movement against the construction of a waste incineration plant, was smashed. This is reported by Mediazona with reference to activist Vera Kerpel.

According to her, unknown people broke all the windows, the taillight and broke the rear-view mirror. The activist stressed that the ignition key was inserted into the lock, but the attackers did not steal the car. The car was in a garage on private property, nothing was missing from it, just like from the car.

As Kerpel said, Gilmutdinova is known as an active fighter against the construction of a waste incineration plant in Osinovo - she collected signatures, spoke at a rally and urged her fellow villagers to come to him.

Gilmutdinova herself believes that the car was smashed precisely because of her civilian activities.

• A waste incineration plant in Tatarstan is going to be built in the Zelenodolsk region, in the village of Osinovo. The land on which the plant is going to be built already belongs to the construction investor, a subsidiary of the Rostec Corporation, RT-Invest. It is planned to utilize up to 50% of all municipal solid waste in Kazan at the waste incineration plant. Construction is expected to start in October 2018, and the plant will be put into operation in 2022.
