“The issue of the safety of our young children who study abroad is acute. There are serious fears that young Russians can suffer from provocations in countries that show an unfriendly attitude towards our country, ”said Oksana Buryak, who opened the presentation of the department.

To return, officials came up with a program with the name “Highly Likely Welcome Back, or it's time to go home!” The phrase "Highly Likely" (very likely) used the British authorities, speaking of Russia's involvement in the poisoning of ex-colonel GRU Sergei Skripal.

Students of undergraduate and magistracy will be ready to urgently accept MGIMO. Dean of the Department of Management and Politics of MGIMO Henry Sardaryan said that the university is ready to accept several hundred new students. When asked if this would not infringe on the rights of other students, he stated that "everything will happen within the framework of Russian legislation." More precisely, he did not talk about the procedure for admission.

Already completing training, Russians will help to find a job at home and, in particular, can offer a place in the Far East. The head of the Entrepreneurial Community "Preactum" Oleg Mansurov at the meeting said that since students once changed the place of residence, they will be ready to do this again.

Students and teachers surveyed by the newspaper assured Kommersant that changes in the relations of the two countries cannot affect the educational process.

• In July 2017, the nephew of the nephew of the President of Russia, Roman Putin, proposed to release students who graduated from the university with a red diploma. Students, however, would be forbidden to leave Russia.
