Roskomnadzor blocked almost 2 million IP addresses Amazon and Google to limit access to Telegram messenger. Information about the beginning of the locks “Vedomosti” was confirmed by the head of the department, Alexander Zharov.

“There is a struggle of a shell and armor-we identify the IP address, by which the messenger migrates, and block them. At first he used about 9 thousand his own IR addresses, we sent them to block. Then he switched to the Amazon subnet (about 600 thousand IR), they were also sent to the block. Now Telegram has switched to a different resource (about 540 thousand), which will also be blocked in the near future. We expect that by the end of the day this will give a result. ”

According to the IT consultant of the FBK Vladislav Zdolnikov, as a result, approximately 1.8 million IP addresses were blocked.

Interruptions in the work of other companies

Limiting access to IP addresses led to interruptions in some resources. The site of the courier service "Bird" was unavailable. The general director of the company Vladimir Kobzev told VC.ru that he intends to file a complaint about the actions of the department:

“I believe that even with bad laws and hands, it is very important to comply with procedural moments when working supervisory organs. Of course, we will change the address (we cannot change right now because of the nuances of the update system, so only in the morning). And of course everything will work when the DNS recording will be updated. But even one lost order is unacceptable. But it turns out, we will not work for 14 hours. ”

The large VPN and proxy servers Roskomnadzor began sending notifications of blocking, said the head of the Agora human rights group Pavel Chikov (the group represented the interests of Telegram in court). As a reason for blocking - violation of the legislation on extremism.
