Russian Prosecutor General Yuri Chaika presented the Federation Council for the annual report on the work of the department controlled by him, Interfax reports. Republic leads the main excerpts.

• The Prosecutor General’s Office called the prevention of rallies to destabilize the situation in Russia.
• The number of crimes under the articles on extremism increased to 1521 (by 4.9%), but there are fewer violent extremist crimes. The largest part of the accusations of extremism (87%) were made under articles on calls for extremism (Article 280 of the Criminal Code) or the excitement of hatred (Article 282 of the Criminal Code).
• Roskomnadzor did not quickly block access to sites with extremist information and their mirrors, stiped.
• The Prosecutor General invited the Ministry of Justice to expand the grounds for recognizing the organization of undesirable. The list is proposed to include a threat to the country's economic security or foreign policy interests.
• In cases of corruption, almost 16 thousand people attracted, of which more than 10 thousand were officials.
• In 2017, the department discovered 220 kickbacks during public procurement in Russia. This is almost twice as much as the number of fixed kickbacks (121) a year earlier. The number of cases of interest conflicts also increased by 30% (3.1 thousand).
• The European Court of Rights has collected € 670 thousand (more than 51 million rubles) from Russia at the claims of the arrested and convicted. According to the department, 38 pre -trial detention centers in 12 constituent entities of Russia last year worked as crowded. In some cases, the arrested did not have an individual sleeping place. The situation is worst in the Crimea, Stavropol Territory, Moscow and the Moscow Region.
