“Satisfying the investigation petitions. Malobrodsky was left in custody. Serebrennikov, Apfelbaum, Itin - house arrest, ”the Freekirill website quoted by Judge Arthur Karpov, who conducted a text broadcast from today's court session.
With a request to extend the preventive measures to the defendants of the case, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation also appealed to the court, TASS reports.
In addition to the creator of the Seventh Studio, Kirill Serebrennikov, its ex-gender Yuri Itin and ex-genproducer Alexei Malobrodsky, as well as the director of RAMT Sofia Apfelbaum in the Seventh Studio case, her former chief accountant Nina Maslyaeva and producer Ekaterina Voronova are held. They are accused of the fact that in 2011-2014, at least 133 million rubles of budget funds allocated the Seventh Studio for the Platform theater project stole at least 133 million rubles.
Malobrodsky is detained, Serebrennikov, Itin, Maslyaev and Apfelbaum under house arrest, Voronova in absentia was arrested and put on the wanted list. None of the accused pleads guilty, except Maslyaeva, who concluded a deal with the investigation and testified to former colleagues. Cases against Maslyaeva and Voronova are allocated into separate production.
Last week, it became known that Serebrennikov’s film “Summer”, which he personally mounted , being under house arrest, was selected in the main competition program of the 71st International Cannes Film Festival. The director of the festival Thierry Fremo said that the organizing committee invites the director to personally submit his picture in Cannes. The producer of the film "Summer" Ilya Stuart expressed the hope that Serebrennikov could attend the premiere.
