The action of a student of St. Petersburg State University against sexism was recognized as a self -officer

The Ethics Commission of St. Petersburg State University recognized the action against sexism, which was conducted on the eve of March 8 by a student of the faculty of international relations, "an attempt to self-affirmation and self-party."

During the action, the girl hung posters on the walls of the faculty with quotes of teachers of St. Petersburg State University about women. The dean of the faculty Irina Novikova asked the ethics commission to consider this action.

The commission’s statement says that the organizer of the action Julia Zhigaleva and other participants "did not even try to raise and deal with this problem in the team of the faculty if it really exists." In addition, the girls allegedly did not inform the teachers that their statements could be regarded as sexist.

The commission concluded that there is no discrimination on the sexual basis at the faculty of international relations, and the participants in the action violated the rules of the internal schedule and ethical norms of relations in the work collective. The action itself, according to the commission, is offensive.

Experts also recommended that teachers and students during work and training at the faculty refrain from words "which may be incorrectly understood or interpreted and lead to conflicts and misunderstandings."
