Yuri Bashmet will take part in the festival both as a soloist and as a conductor of his groups - the chamber ensemble "Soloists of Moscow" and the State Symphony Orchestra "New Russia". By tradition, the festival will perform the Philharmonic Choir Chapel of Yaroslavia.
In the program of the festival concerts “To the anniversary of Yuri Bashmet”, “Musical journey to Belgium: from Jacques de Pre to Jean-Luke Fafshan”, “The classic meets jazz”. At the festival, world premieres of the play for Alta and string Sergei Nevsky and the symphony “Letter of Sofia” by Jean-Luka Fafshan will take place. In addition to Yaroslavl, concerts with the participation of Yuri Bashmet and other musicians will be held in Uglich, Rostov, the village of Velikoy, Rybinsk and Pereslavl-Zalessky.
At the closure of the festival on May 9, on the stage of the Volkovsky Theater, the musical and dramatic performance “Passion by Peak” will be presented in the author’s version of Yuri Bashmet. The director is Pavel Safonov, the main roles will be played by Nadezhda Mikhalkov and Sergey Epishev.
The program will be complemented by master classes and creative meetings, the stage of selection in the All-Russian youth symphony orchestra. Within the framework of the All -Russian program “Yuri Bashmet - the young talents of Russia”, the spiritual Academy of the festival will continue its work.
There are two conferences in the scientific program: “The role and history of Belgium music in the musical life of Europe” and “Music and our time” - “In the search for new horizons” (based on the work of the Sobvadro Italiano and new approaches to the performance and representation of music).
The organizers of the festival are the Yaroslavl State Philharmonic and the Russian Concert Agency
