The 70th anniversary of the state of Israel is not at all the date that may cause irritation in Moscow today. Russia has other enemies today. And in Israel “a quarter of our people”, they speak Russian there, they are allowed there without visas, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regularly visits Putin, maintaining the illusion of international significance from the Kremlin recluse. Why not rejoice with the Jews - even if you quietly hate them in your soul? But meanwhile, the anniversary of Israel is also a festival of defeat. Feast of Kremlin's defeat.

In Russia, of course, they like to remember something else - Gromyko’s hand raised in the UN and Czechoslovak weapons. There is no doubt, the USSR helped Israel take place and fight back in the early days of existence. But when Stalin and his heirs realized that not a Jewish collective farm, but a Jewish state in the Middle East, they did everything to destroy him, so that the Jewish people would suffer.

I just briefly remind everything that was later: the campaign against the “cosmopolitans”, the destruction of culture for Yiddish, the execution of the anti -fascist committee, the “case of doctors”, military assistance to the enemies of Israel, the ultimatum during the Suez crisis, the creation of Egypt aviation in front of the six -day war and the participation of the Soviet military “advisers” in wars against Israel, preparation and protection and protection and protection and protection and protection and protection and protection terrorists, an unspoken interest rate for Jews upon admission to universities and hiring and at the same time restrictions on departure from the USSR, flourishing state anti-Semitism, prison terms for Jewish activists and "refuseniks" (even the main festive torch at the ceremony of the 70th anniversary of Israel was lit by a former Soviet prisoner, speaker of the Knesset Julius Edelstein), and the breakdown of relations with Egypt after the signing by this country of the world with Israel and all torpedoing the peaceful process ...

There was already a perestroika, and there was no diplomatic relationship with Israel, the “refuseniks” arranged pickets, and thousands of people stood in the stands of the Jewish state at book fairs, who did not see the usual Jewish book for decades. That's how it was. And the Kremlin did not reconcile because he realized, but because his teeth were pulled out, because, as Comrade Putin remarks, “the largest geopolitical catastrophe of the twentieth century” occurred - well, you understand, Jews about about the same catastrophe get drunk on Purim, seeing off the last journey of Comrade Aman.

But in general, of course, it is surprising that after all this nightmare, the Jews of the former Soviet Union still feel like Jews, and the state of Israel lives and celebrates. And the fact that in Moscow they are forced to come to terms with this is also a miracle. A miracle of courage, which gives the hope that sooner or later the Kremlin will have to come to terms with everyone whose freedom he continues to encroach. In 1974, the 26th anniversary of Israel, who almost died in the Judgment Day, but survivor and victorious, caused no less rabies in Moscow than the last year’s 26th anniversary of Independence of Ukraine, almost trampled by Russian aggression, but survived and won. But this will pass - and the 70th anniversary of Free Ukraine will not cause any negative emotions - like the Ukrainian flag over Sevastopol and Lugansk.

So it will be, of course. Not because the Kremlin suddenly bothers. But because the teeth inserted after the “geopolitical disaster” will again turn into powder and you will need to think about your own digestion and nasty void in your mouth. I really hope that at least then in Russia they will decide to do without fangs.
