US President Donald Trump said that his administration will introduce new sanctions against Russia when Moscow will deserve them. It is reported by CNN.

“For the media, regardless of what I am doing, any of my steps are not tough enough,” the president remarked, answering the questions of journalists. “But Russia will tell you that there was no one harder (in relation to it. - Ed.) Than Donald Trump.”

According to Bloomberg, Trump also stated that about a month ago in Syria there was a battle between American and Russian troops. “We had a very, very tough fight - about a month ago - between our and Russian troops, and, sadly, many people died,” the president said.

On April 15, the US Permanent Representative to the UN Nickei Haley said that Washington will introduce new sanctions against Russia the next day . However, on the 16th, The Washington Post reported that Trump decided to postpone such a decision . The publication wrote that measures against Moscow in the White House are being discussed, but the president has not yet approved them yet. The press secretary of the American administration Sarah Senders then promised that the question of the sanctions Trump would be determined "in the near future."

Regarding the statement of Haley in the White House, they noticed that the plans of the US administration had changed at the last moment, so the forefront is not to blame for the fact that her words were not confirmed.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, TASS, citing an unnamed source in the Foreign Ministry, placed the information according to which the White House was notified by the Russian Embassy in Washington that "in the near future" new sanctions against Moscow will not be introduced.
