Police refused to accept a report against a drunken man who tried to destroy the Nemtsov memorial

In Moscow, police officers in the Kitay-Gorod department refused to accept a complaint against a drunken man who tried to destroy the memorial to politician Boris Nemtsov on the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge. This was reported by OVD-Info with reference to activist Andrei Margulev.

According to him, at about six in the morning, a drunk man began dragging flowers and trying to destroy the memorial. As a result, the police took both him and Alexei Mikheev, who was on duty at night at the memorial, to file a statement with the department. But the operational duty officer refused to accept the statement and kicked the activist out, saying that the flowers on the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky Bridge were just trash.

At the end of August 2017, died volunteer Ivan Skripnichenko, who was on duty at the Nemtsov memorial, . A week before his death, he was beaten on a bridge, according to activists, with shouts like “Don’t you like Putin?”

Nemtsov was killed on the evening of February 27, 2015 on the Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Bridge. Five people have been convicted of his murder. Nemtsov’s family believes that only the perpetrators were punished, and not the customers and organizers of the crime.
